i am a photographer. it is how i view the world. my eye constantly captures images of moments in time. it is these moments, and the thoughts and ideas that go along with them, that i want to share.
recently i have been interested in how my mind works and wonders. i find myself becoming engrossed with my dreams and the dream state. i like the ideas of trying to control what you can't control, making the subconscious tangible, and layering. as i move on from this body of work i want to continue exploring and looking at thoughts, how these thoughts come to us, and how they can inform us.
during my last exhibition i thought a lot about my daily routine and how i live my life. i'm intrigued with people, their habits, and their habitats. i am drawn to personal spaces due to their intimate and revealing nature.
i also find surveillance amusing. growing up in las vegas played a big role in that. you are constantly being watched and confronted by these bubble-like shapes with their lens eyes staring back at you. who is watching you? how are these elements existing in the environment in which they should be hiding?
